Easter A Time To Reflect

The resurrection of Christ is what Easter is all about also making it the ultimate essential of all Christian holy days. However, nowadays the meaning of the holiday is covered by decorated eggs and bunnies. Easter can fall anytime between March 22 and April 25 since is occurs the first Sunday following the full moon. Easter is also linked to the Jewish Passover in symbolism and it’s location in the calendar. What’s with Bunnies and eggs and Easter? Well the bunny is a well know sexual icon of fertility. Religions affiliated with Babel connect the rabbit with periodicity, both human and lunar. The Mother Goddess Semiramis (Easter) is associated with the moon. Therefore, the Easter bunny rabbit represents the Mother Goddess and is associated with once a year Spring time fertility rituals worshiping the Mother Goddess. Decorated Easter eggs are a part of the activities too that came from the egg which was a holy symbol among the Babylonians. easter bunnies and eggs basketThey assumed that a wonderful size egg dropped from heaven into the Euphrates River from which the Goddess Semiramis was born. It is something to think about how many of us genuinely think about the actual meaning of this holiday aside from the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It has evolved to be another retail holiday and over commercialized. However, it is a time for families to join and observe the day. Kids love Easter for the presents, candy and most of all the Easter egg hunt which could be enjoyed by the adults as well. Family member that are separated by physical geography many times send Easter Bunnies and Eggs Box to their loved ones. Grandma and Grandpa send Filled Easter baskets for Kids to grandchildren. Daughter and sons ship Family Easter Basket to parents and brothers and sisters far away. Send a festive box filled with chocolate eggs and bunnies for Easter!
