Autumn is a perfect time of the year to develop a new gift basket. Since it's harvest time for apples we have resolved to highlight many variations of apples. Ever since the 19th century, Americans have observed Thanksgiving by imitating the vision of the pilgrims and the Indians sitting down together for a celebratory meal. As pretty as this image of friendship may be, it is not reality. The saga of pilgrims and Indians was one of one-sided friendship. while the Indians provided the pilgrims with food and expertise to make do their first winter the pilgrims gave thanks to them by antagonizing and attacking them. Even though this is not what we want to envision as we join together to celebrate with our relatives and buddies, perhaps it offers a new point of view to the season. The pilgrims were greedy and immoral. They took from the Indians and repaid them in the most severe ways possible. Maybe instead of believing the perfect story of the pilgrims and Indians as buddies each Thanksgiving, we should think about on the hatred the Indians endured at the hands of their "friends" the pilgrims.

A Fall Gift For Giving Thanks
Giving Thanks As the leaves begin to turn and drop from the trees and the air cools alerting of the coming of winter, we put away our shorts and flip flops and get out our scarves and mittens. While the cold air may be a needed change from the sizzle of summer, it also reminds us that the days are getting shorter and we will be spending much more time at home hibernating. Some people call fall their favorite season and it does create many occasions for festivity and a chance for us to spend time with friends and family as we seek shelter indoors and look for ways to amuse ourselves and keep our spirits high. When we think of autumn we think of pumpkins, turkeys, red, orange, and yellow leaves, and harvest festivals. As the organic world wilts for the months of cold ahead, we celebrate life in hopes that we may continue to be blessed in the weeks ahead. We celebrate the gifts of the harvest and give thanks for our many blessings. Putting aside the getaways and weekend excursions of summer, we ready ourselves for a drearier oncoming of winter by crafting pleasure in a time when it is more difficult to find in our surroundings. The winter months are known as the 'holidays,' but the holidays really start with Halloween and Thanksgiving, traditions which have been around for hundreds of years which allow us to gather with friends and find joy in life. Why A Father's Day Celebration
Can you believe that Father's Day has officially only been around since 1972. It took 4 presidents and a Maine senator to at last make it official. Mother’s Day had been around for almost 60 years by then. Sonora Smart was the first person to suggest Father’s Day to honor her Father who was left to raise his 6 children when his wife died giving birth to their 6th child. It was then suggested to complement Mother’s day in celebrating fatherhood and male parenting. Today Father's Day is celebrated on a variety of dates around the globe and typically involves gift-giving, special dinners to fathers, and family-oriented activities. To help in support of Father’s day young members of the YMCA went to church sporting a rose: a red rose to recognize a living father, and a white rose to honor a deceased one. Interestingly enough Father's Day was at risk of disappearing from the calendar while Mother's Day was met with enthusiasm, Father's Day was often met with laughter. Not all fathers are exactly alike! OK, so you’re thinking what in the world can I buy my dad for Father’s day? I don’t live at home any more and haven't a clue what he wants.

A Special Gift For A Child
Few things are as real as a child’s delight on Christmas morning. I remember rushing down the staircase as soon as I woke up and shaking my parents awake, asking them if we could open our presents from Santa. Regardless of the fact that the gifts were always different from year to year, the traditions never changed. One of the best Christmas customs was always the candy and baked goods I would discover in my stocking and from the kitchen, which was warm and pleasant from all the baking. Graduation Time To Send Gifts
Graduation is a significant life affair for anyone. Whether graduating from a bachelor's program or obtaining a major certificate, graduation is an achievement worth commemorating. In the United States, achieving 57% of the populace between the ages of 3 and 34 are registered in some kind of instruction. In 2001, 38% of approved students of 2 year institutions graduated along with 65% from 4 year establishments. This demonstrates that it takes much work and perseverance to achieve an education and this is why we should award those who see it through. My friend recently moved from Rhode Island to Colorado to finish his education in a very different part of the country. He is lucky enough to attend a university with a few campuses nationally which allows him to transfer his credits easily from one state to another. He did not move because he was unsatisfied with the campus in Rhode Island or in order to find a new social scene. His main reason for moving to Colorado was so that his family in California could go to his graduation ceremony. My friend is from a big Mexican family and he is the first among them to graduate from university. For his family this is a huge accomplishment. He will not only be surrounded by family and lots of food and music, but he can anticipate the kindness of gifts. Gift giving is an important part of any graduation celebration, because it offers family and friends an opportunity to tell the graduate that they are proud of them. Perhaps it's as if the custom of giving thanks has become obsolete over time. Sending a personalized thank you note once was conventional for both professional and personal circumstances, but now the majority of people think that it's enough to carelessly send an email with a prompt "thanks" before returning to their active daily lives. Now don't misunderstand me. I realize that the world is more fast paced than it once was and the majority of people scarcely have time to relax and catch a break, but thinking about it, that merely gives you that much more reason to send a sincere thank you. Due to the fact that we've become less used to getting a proper thank you, it makes a much greater impact when we do get one. It certainly is a delightful surprise to see that someone bothered to say "thanks." I haven̢۪t yet mentioned the impression it can have on your business.
